Dandelyne Miniature Embroidery Necklace
After a very hectic week, I finally got around to creating my first embroidery necklace. Thanks to Dandelyne, a gorgeous hand-crafter in Melbourne, I bought this hoop at The Finders Keepers market in October and opted to embroider the stitched centre piece myself. I love the crafty and unique appearance of this necklace, and the fact that it's so unlike anything I could find anywhere else. I highly recommend this as a gift idea as well, whether you buy one that has been pre-made by Dandelyne, or the DIY kit that I bought. It was super simple to make and really just required an idea (I used bunting which was one of the themes that I saw at the Dandelyne stall), some fabric, DMC threads and an embroidery hoop and needle. Once you have stitched your design, it just needs to be cut out and the edges folded and glued in place inside the embroidery hoop. The whole thing barely took an hour to make which was such a perfect choice for a Friday night in. I can see this being a great project for craft groups and classes since it is so quick and easy, and can be made with very basic stitching skills.
